Today you will make a day trip to an unheard-of gem called Monarch Mountain. A gem because of its abundant snow (350+ inches) and uncrowded slopes along with its laidback friendly atmosphere and people. It is located along the Continental Divide and so it benefits from storms from both the Pacific Northwest and the Southwest. No snow making here. A chance for some fresh tracks and you can also take advantage of Monarch’s 130 acres of “hike to terrain” for even more fresh tracks!

Telluride Mountain Resort boasts more than 2,000 acres of varying terrain, from steep narrow shoots to long wide groomers for ripping. It averages over 300 inches of snow per year. Trails are never congested and there are rarely any lift lines. You will feel like you are on your own private hill. Some great areas for powder can be had with short hikes for the more adventurous.
